Rams new 6.4 HEMI
Anyone own a HD Ram truck with the new 6.4 Hemi? Looking for some real world experience with the new Hemi. Can't seem to find one on dealer lots. Thanks

Do yourself a favor. Go to the Ram Truck website, download the 2014 Chassis Cab Owners Manual, and turn to page 378 of 543. There you will find the manufacturer generated, approved, and authorized information regarding the recommended fuel for the 6.4L engine. It says, in part and with emphasis added:
"These engines are designed to meet all emissions regulations and provide excellent fuel economy and performance when using high quality unleaded "regular" gasoline having an octane rating of 87. The use of premium gasoline is not recommended, as it will not provide any benefit over regular gasoline in these engines."
It don't get any clearer than that.
But! Is that cc engine the exact same engine used in the pickups. Many times cc truck engines are detuned vs pickup engines. Chris
That was my thought too.
Not uncommon at all for different engines to run different tunes in different applications which "may" change octane requirements.
