My concern with the tailgate would be the load it could handle due to being in two pieces, overall weight of the gate and ease of removal and installation with that dual hinge design. If the above items were satisfied, I would have to weigh the cost over the convenience.
My 9 year old truck has a brand new tailgate sitting under wraps in the garage because it always carried a full door canopy before carrying the truck camper. Even the mounting hardware is new because I removed it along with the gate.
Maybe I needed a tailgate delete option instead of a fancier gate?
