Double check the ratings for your hitch receiver - it should be stamped into the actual steel somewhere. The 2 in. receiver on my truck has stampings; 550 lbs no weight distributing, 1000 lbs weight distributing
My receiver is stamped 770 lbs, but the manual says 550. And no weight distributing is allowed on my vehicle due to hitch being removable for storage.
And yeah, I almost put the difference between Europe and the US in my original rant, but didn't.
