I just realized that you are driving a Land Rover. Why not look for a 3/4 ton Suburban or Excursion? You'll get only slightly worse mileage (you may even get the same mileage), more room for your family, far more payload, and you'll be able to tow the trailer you're looking for. And it'll still be a great daily driver.
