Ok, I'm an idiot! RTFM.......so the on/off cycles the unit from fan to cool to furnace. I never realized that when on fan there was a choice of selection. By pressing the - or + it cycles from High to Low to AU (for auto). My dad is laughing at me in heaven right now!
