F150 to F250, am I missing something?

I wanted to get a 3/4 for registration reason but after spending the last hours researching about the laws here it looks like the 4500Kg GVWR doesn't apply if the vehicle is not register under a company name. In my case I do not need a truck for work so I could get a real 1 ton...

I test drove a F250 and the ride quality is excellent when unloaded (this will be my daily driver so it is important). How does a F350 rides compare to a 250?
