Mad... I am listening... making notes. Yes, I'm a packrat. But with each camper, I've lightened a bit. I will definitely look for a larger truck. THanks for all of your advice. You DID mention one more issue. We are spoiled with the Generator in our MH. We have the dogs....toy poodle and yorkie... but they only weigh 8 pounds total. I think the Avalanche is prepped for a generator, but I hadn't considered the added weight. For a 5500 Onan (if that is large enough?????), I'd bet that one is pretty hefty. Will have to google it and add it to the weight. We often stop to eat or shop, and we are spoiled running the air conditioner for our Maggie & Waggles. Oh! And the fireplace is just a heater... not a real one. No wood! :)
Mitch... thanks, gotcha. I think it will be a dually if we can afford it. We had never put 100,000 miles on any of our vehicles... until we got our '98 Lexus ES300. Bought it used when it was a couple of years old, at 22,000 miles. It now has 140,000 and is like the Energizer Bunny. It's still gorgeous, and it runs great.
I had another question about the genset, but can't remember. :(
Camper FAmily. Thanks for your advice, too. I have a little bit of a connection to Roush/RFR/etc... as in Ford... so I'm pretty stuck on staying with the Ford. ;)
Best......
