So... a quick update, the salesman called my husband to let him know that it was back and he went to see it on his lunch hour. He offered to lower the price to what we've seen advertised elsewhere, but he had the nerve to say that we were lucky because it had only been taken out once!
I appreciate all the replies I've gotten and will be contacting the manufacturer about this as suggested.
ETA: My husband texted him about the situation and he texted back that it was now considered a demo since it had been taken out and that that was why he was willing to lower the price.
