Can I expect my gas mileage to improve after break in? on my new Silverado 1500

I have a 2015 Silverado Crew Cab with the Sportsman package. I leave it in2 wheel drive, not the automatic position. So far I have 3300 miles on it and average a little over17 mpg. It may be better but it's been cold out so I always warm it before I leave.
