Re-occuring topics
No scientific data to back it up; but it seems topics go in cycles. There seems to be a lot of water heater questions recently. Is it because we all go through the same problems, but we experience them at different times?

Sheesh. ;)- I Don't mind responding to re-occurring topics. Not everyone is on the cite daily or they might be new. I'm guilty of posting topics that have previously been covered. Lets face it, just about every post has been covered at one time or another. It's all about discussion and helping each other, not an original question.
- No one is making you read or respond - get over it. If you have tried searching here, it really doesn't work so well. I've personally stopped reading the Can I tow this? threads. Have had enough for this spring.
- Reoccurring topics help new members immensely.
Not everyone has hung out here for five years or more.
The reoccurring post is often the first time a new member has had a chance to see the information within it.
As a moderator once told me: Don't like a post? Don't read it, just move on.
Good advice. - I posted the original to start a conversation. That certainly worked! The answer was in the responses, as usual! I think it is because the same problems crop up for people during shakedown, first trip of the season, or winterization. These are events that tend to be happening for everyone at the same time.
3 pages? I predict (a game I played with the kids) that most topics generate about 3 pages of interest and then they are solved, hijacked, or abandoned. Boband4 wrote:

As for search, I have found with most forums,the better way to search is to go outside the forum, and just use google or yahoo, put in the name of the forum, plus the words you want to search. It often will give you something, while conversely, just using the search in a forum itself will often come back empty. - The OP wasn't complaining or judging in any way, yet it appeals to some to start blasting away, whether he deserves it or not.
I think he's showing considerable restraint.
