Re-seal Bigfoot roof

I'm wore out. After masking most of the roof yesterday I finished that this morning. Even masked around the rack feet. Pulled the AC cover off so I could get between it and the skylight. Pulled the refrigerator vent cover off and painted it with Krylon Fusion. Got my nitrile gloves and a cheap paintbrush and got to brushing it on. Went well. Three bottles of water and a Gatorade. I let the stuff dry a little and then installed the fantastic fan cover the previous owner gave me. Reinstalled the fridge vent and AC cover. Looked at the running lights and they are ok. Pulled the blue masking tape off and had a Bud Light and a cool shower.
Maybe strip the decals off next spring.
I need to get out there as soon as the weather cools.

That's OK. I went to my RV supply shop and got a quart of an alkyl coating with fibers. They only had the Henge for rubber roofs. I think the brand I got is "Plast T Coat". I finished the Dicor on the 5th roof about 6:30PM and got on the Bigfoot. Brushed the old sealant and masked it off. I'll put a light coat on it tomorrow morning and see what it looks like.

I wish I had seen your email yesterday, I was at the Bigfoot factory and could have asked them what they use. You might call Grant at the factory and asked him. They sure had some nice campers on the assembly line. I was impressed with the pride and craftsmanship the workers had in their product.

It sounds like a great idea, tape it and forget it, but I have replaced standard vent covers with Fantastic Fans, I've had to replace my shower skylight and I can't imagine Eternabond is easy to remove.

I think the Dicor products are designed to be removed relatively easily because such roof attachments need to be replaced from time to time due to a number of environmental or accidental reasons.

I have removed some Eternabond, it left quite the mess of gray adhesive when the white portion peeled away during removal.

When I replace a roof fitting or any fitting on the camper, I press seal it with Butyl Tape, fasten the fitting dowm with the screws then
put on the Dicor....

Do you know the name of the company?

Running lights are important to keep sealed too! Especially the fronts! If they start leaking the water will end up in unusual places... Reason is the sections of foam that comprise the insulation/inside walls. The water will follow the seams... Water in the bed corner closets and will just be damp! You might think condensation....

Thanks Bob....exactly what I needed to hear.

Use the same product. In the cracks I apply extra so they fill. Tape off so you get a nice line...
In 16 years I inspect every year and touch up areas that are cracked. Some places it is now quite thick <>1/8in... The only time I have completely removed all the orig Heng's is to install a better bathroom fan.

I have heard of that. But, I don't have a rubber roof....all fiberglass. I just need to re-do the factory sealant around the penetrations.
