I have replaced my OEM Fuel tank with a Titan 55 Gallon Fuel tank, love the longer range without going to a in-bed transfer tank as I have two tool chests in my bed along with my 5th Wheel Hitch.
Also installed mud guards to keep rocks off the front of my 5th Wheel and not run into issues when in states like Texas with state laws that require Mud Guards on any Dually Truck.
Maybe if I had a dually I would install a larger tank, but at 34 gal OEM I get over 300 miles towing, I still need to stop for relief before I run out of fuel.
Yep, my OEM tank was 32 gallons, pulling our 17,000 lb 5th Wheel and getting 10 to 11 mpg only gives us a range of about 250 miles and we had better be finding a fuel stop. I would much rather stop at rest areas to stretch, walk and use the bathroom than truck stops.
We now have range of 450 plus miles before needing fuel, we usually stop and stretch and pee about every 150 miles or so.
I thought about putting a larger tank in my last GMC 3500 (it had a 36 gallon tank) but never did.
