If you want a great place to chill for a day along I-90 just outside of Spokane, try the Fishtrap BLM area. I think it is about 7000 acres and has some small ponds, hiking trails, pretty fun motorcycling. It is free and just a couple miles off the highway about an hour west of Spokane.
It does sound like you are doing a fast trip though. Sort of like trying to see the UK in 3 days like we did. Yep, there is that rock ring thing, oh there is an old castle....oops time to go.
