I would double check with your local ministry of transportation when looking for a f350 or higher truck.
In my area I just paid $140 for my yearly sticker. That is for 4000kg (8818 lbs) gvw. If I had gone with the f350 I would have paid $170 but I would have to have the truck saftied yearly at a cost of about $100 and now that the truck has a yellow safety sticker all trailers must be saftied yearly as well at a cost of about $100 each. So grand total of $670 per year if they don't find anything wrong during the safety.
They may cost about the same to buy but they can be very different cost to operate.
In my case my f250 handles my camper very easily without any mods. Of course being and older truck and camper both are built lighter.
