Finally found some time to work on this. I started off by calling Heartland and got a real nice guy that spent half of his day tracking down the schematics and relaying the pertinent information to me. In fact, it's worth saying that every time I've called Heartland pre-sales and post they've been extremely helpful. Granted, I wasn't asking them to replace a bad part, but I expect that exchange to go just as smooth if the scenario arises.
Anyhow, the center support in these pivoting walls is a 3/4" thick by 4" wide slice of ply-"wood". I bought some 1" lag bolts, and a couple of washers to keep it from popping out the other end of the 3/4" material (even though I managed to do it with the drill anyhow... twice). Mounted the bracket (http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Bracket-Monitor-200x100mm-ML206B/dp/B001SDBVCE), bought a super lite TV (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0074FGNJ6), and so-far-so-good.
