I do own a 2012 Passat TDI (and a 2013 Touareg TDI) and both are equipped with urea (AdBlue)injection system.
Fuel economy is outstanding on both. Last spring, with the Touareg and my TT, I did average 12,9 L/100 km for a 8,200 km trip to Florida (80% of the time with the TT behind). With the Passat, on highway, it's between 4,3 to 4,5 L/100 (100 to 110 km per hour).
And I want to keep both of them that way... ;)
