I can only ad I have run four 10 and 11'pickup campers(The older model campers) on a couple 3/4 ton trucks with the old 750-16 tires in both 8 and 10 ply without ever having an issue on terrible mountain roads that would shake the teeth right out of your mouth.
This new RV weight thing has boggled my mind every since I got a computer. In the old days we just did it and modified the truck to handle it,if need be.
Weight seems to be in about every topic including some I post, because it's what's in on the internet.(grin)
To the op...I would take that new F-350 srw and put that 855s on it without any worries as long as you have good tires. That's more truck than I have ever had for a truck camper/trailer or fifth wheel, until now.
Tires can carry up to 5 times the rated load when rolled, but it is heat generated at highway speed that will kill them.
So yes, if you plan to drive slowly off-road - the overload is not big issue, but when I had F250 with overload rear, even it hold for 2000 miles drive home, I could not shake my imagination what would happen with tall camper in case of tire blow up at 65 mph.
Than there are tire blows and tire blows.
I had "famous" Firestone on my F250 rear that drop the "gator" when driven empty. The tire itself still hold the air when I pulled over and rolled it to exit, but the gator bend the tail pipe and took off mud flap on flatbed.
Would that be standard bed - the damage could be huge and holding the truck on the road would be questionable.
That series of Firestones cost 68 recorded fatalities in SUV alone.
