Really would appreciate your advice on this unique camper

I'm thinking of buying one of these and would really appreciate your comments. The guy builds beautiful rigs and knows what he's doing, IMO. I'm tired of dragging big rigs around (currently have a 17' trailer, big to me) and want to go back to a simple and easy way to get into the backcountry. I don't need many amenities. I would get a Toyota Tacoma to haul it around.

Thoughts? These start at around 6k w/o much inside, are made of W. red cedar. The website has photos of the interior - beautiful work. I've talked to him about his construction methods and they seem very sound. It's pretty carefree, but would need a coat of poly every couple of years. Thanks in advance.

  • Looked at their website last week and thought, for a minimalist TCer they looked pretty neat. Yes some exterior maint. but others need some wash and wax, sealing here and there every now and then too so.... For my needs there's not the draw as I'm too old and creature comfort oriented. LOL Can only imagine the wonderful aroma of cedar tho! The price for base unit is comparable to a well used older traditional camper with more v.s for new with less, but they're so way cool. You'd blend into the backcountry so well! Comes down to personal preference and what you want to spend. Their add-ons aren't that cheap I noticed, additional electrical and plumbing I guess is expensive. Love to see one in person just for fun tho.
  • I think my concern would be the weight of the rig. Looks nice from the photo.
  • How do you get it on and off the truck?

It's nice but where would you store everything?
