I have a 2012 F-150 tow vehicle and a 23' Coachmen TT. Currently the truck has the factory installed Synch/radio. I would like to replace it with an in-dash system so that I have a large touchscreen display that includes navi, blu-tooth, radio, etc. I would like a camera installed on the truck that can be used for back-up/rearview for tow vehicle alone and also have camera(s) installed on the trailer for rearview and back-up as well when it's being towed. Does anyone have such a set up? Any recommendations? Suggestions?I've seen cameras mounted on bumpers, license plate frames and in the tailgate handle of the truck. I've been hearing quite a bit about theft of cameras being on the rise. Wondering which location is best.

I like the Pioneer 2600BT and wanted to put one in my TT for the DVD and bluetooth capabilities. I'll probably just replace the whole TT next year.I would probably use a license frame mounted one like this one. It does not look big enough to scream steal me and if someone did, they are not much $ to replace.FWIW, the OEM $2k NAV system is worth every penny for the large screen/backup camera. Love hooking up now!

My 2010 F150 came with the rear camera. I never knew how nice this has been and don't know how I managed without one over the years...I love this display setup with the foot markers and alarm beeps. When the view gets to the one foot mark the alarm tone goes steady. You can very easily see the trailer hitch go over the ball mount on the truck. first time everytime...My camera lens is built into the FORD Emblem on the bottom. It could be higher up on the truck as I do get light glare sometimes when backing up at night so bad you can't see anything. I also get the alarm ON when water is dripping down off the FORD Emblem You can see the round black object below the FORD Emblem in this photophotos from google searchIf I was going to mount one on the back of my trailer it would up as high as I could get and point down to see the roadway behind. If it is going to be munted on thelicense plat or down tha low on the frame you will get a bunch of light refractions at night from vehicles behind you. Maybe being up high out of reach might make it harder to steal??? Most install I see on the rear of the trailers seem to be up high... Just my thoughts...Roy Ken

We have a backup camera on our Avalanche. It came as a feature. I think every vehicle legally should automatically have this and be built that way. It is not just a feature for back up but a safety feature all around.We are looking for a camera for the back of our TT so we can see the boat behind it. It has to be wireless and able to mount to the fiberglass. Also has to have a clear view. We have only been able to find a 30', that is not long enough.

I have this in my truck. I installed a camera up at the top of the TT in the back, so it has a nice wide view and I can see everything. I have a point right behind the bumper that the camera from the truck plugs into and I unplug the truck cam and plug in the trailer cam while I am towing. Works awesome. I will get some pictures posted up for you

I looked at a Dodge last week that had two cameras built in from the factory. One showed the rear hitch and was a normal backup camera that many cars/vans have now. The other showed the bed of the truck. It had a gooseneck trailer hitch factory installed.

I really like the new truck but at 53K I will be looking to add cameras to my 2005.

I would really recommend it. I bought and returned others due to interference. This one is great. I use it for more than hitching up. The camera is magnetic, so i also use it when backing up the trailer. I can stick it to the trailer bumper or somewhere else on the site, like the power pole, and I get a great view of the rear of the trailer while I'm parking. I wouldn't go without now, but just my experience. YMMV.
