Well this has been a great bunch of replies to a subject that can sometimes be kept quite about. You know, the one about Americans and their money. Capitalism is about supply and demand, and many responses have reflected just that sense.
I, like others have stated, am not interested in getting such an absolutely incredible deal that I put manufacturers, dealers, or private individuals in a bad spot; they are just trying to make a living.
But, many will, when not reigned in, try and screw the customer, just to make more money for themselves. Greed creeps in on the sales end as frequently as on the purchase end. Take for example the huge payouts given by making junk loans in the banking industry that put our economy into such a financial disaster to begin with.
So I appreciate hearing some target numbers that, as I said originally, are a REASONABLE figure for negotiation. Thanks again. You all are a great resource.
