Reasonable Negotiation of MSRP

There is a general target "percentage below MSRP" or "at or near list price" that savvy automobile buyers can often obtain for their automobile purchase.

Does this same practice apply to new truck camper purchases in specific (or RVs in general)? Has there been a generally accepted industry accounting for this phenomenon and MSRP prices reflect an expectation for such negotiation? Or is this not general manufacturer practice? Or does it vary by brand, location, dealer?

What are your experiences in final purchase price as compared to MSRP?

And what are your understandings of this concept?

  • 35% off a Truck Camper you are better dealing than me, I can see that kind of discount off a 5th wheel, bumper pull or motorhome. Perhaps I have been dealing on TC's from smaller manufacturers or vendors. Maybe the larger more nation-wide TC's have larger mark-ups or more supply relative to demand.
  • your asking alot, but normal is about 35% off dealer sticker ,and all mthe extras thrown in plus tax. each deal will be differant and sales people lie alot. they,ll deal till the cows come ome.
