Recovered the nasty carpet covered step that boltss to the wall under the refer/pantry to allow a step to the bed area for short folks...not mentioning who that may be!!!;)
Used some of the material left over from the headboard recovering and and nice poly coated 1/2" red oak board. It it proves to be slippery then I'll re-coat and add some fine sand or rubber stick on strips...but I intentionally did not sand the gain absolutely smooth so the coating would swell the gain and make it somewhat rough...maybe that will be enuf non-skid. Time will tell!
