Bit of a set back. I expected the slide to be in and so did Mike and David. They had to remove all the big rubber seals and prepare to make some cuts and fills.
The top rail and the bottom rail and the bottom of the TC are absolutely parallel. The slide is square but the verticals are out by 3/8" at hte top. The original slide seal on the forward side shows signs of wear consistent with factory misalignment but probably with in the spec. BUT when you get everything tight and bolted there is no flex any longer to accommodate poor tolerances.
So the solution is being undertaken fill in with a strip and shave off on the forward edge.
Disappointing to say the least. The idea that this TC or any for that matter are true and plumb is not what a TC is about.
Consolation is that my Lance will be stout and the way I want it.
