Turn off the breaker and look behind the NEMA 6-50R for an unused neutral wire.
You might get lucky and just swap on a NEMA 14-50R and use a standard adapter.
(worked for me :B)
You could repurpose the wire as 120v assuming this is a dedicated feed used for nothing else.
