You can probably find the manuals for the cameras you gave her on the manufacturer's website, and maybe even some books about them on Amazon, if she is interested in learning more.
And by the way.... the commercial photography annoyances you saw, are typical of the reasons that NFS requires permits for commercial photography or filming in national forests. There are definite guidelines that both the bride with her photo shoot, and the Women of Flyfishing shoot, were clearly violating. NFS can impose a $1000 fine for not getting a permit, or violating the terms of it. Too bad these annoying inconsiderate people didn't get busted.
