Thanks for the comments, I hope you all get out to enjoy the fall and get to make your own reconnect stories. It was great to hear the words from other parents as well.
I like the mention of photography and the out of the way areas. One day I want to travel back east with my truck camper during the fall as the variety of colors really looks to be something. As this is my first year with the TC, I feel a little melancoly knowing that my usage is going to decrease dramatically.
One other trick I've used for camera settings is to take photos of "cheatsheets" I've written for those settings that I find particularly hard to remember. I also take a photo of my contact information should my camera be lost and store these as low resolution, protected images on the flash card.
JumbotJet, that is precisely the spot I was thinking of when I wrote the story! I just drove very slow at that spot and breathed a sigh of relief as I passed by. I have read some of the inspiring posts here about taking campers over the White Rim Trail that looks pretty amazing.
coolmom42, I did not know about those commercial photography permits, that makes a lot of sense though. I will remember this for next time if I ever run into any folks that are particularly annoying. I would like to find the advertisement of the flyfishing scene to see how it came out. The woman was also casting her fly line behind her across the trail as people were walking by.
I'll have to work on getting a dishwasher to fit in my popup or will simply stop in Buena Vista next time for Mexican food!
Cheers,
Mike
