my Bogart solar controller is using Optional Temperature compensation.
The whole point of my post yesterday was as follows:
a) I am limited to the wire size i currently have between solar panels and controller (no more room to pass a wire through from below sink to wall access panel than up to roof).
b) based on math, My current wire is correct size for the panels I have if my camper system was tested in a lab environment. but they are not running in a lab. In real life the true output is lower.
c) based on my actual findings, I might see 5 amps per panel during peak sun days but as we discussed as the day progresses, sun gets higher but my charge requirements goes down.
My current 3 panels realistically put out total of 15 amps. If I add one more panel I would have the potential to see maybe 20 amps peak in morning when I do most of my bulk charging.
my Bogart solar controller is good for Up to 30 amps maximum solar current. Charger will safely reduce output if panel current exceeds 31 amps.
My wire size is good for near 30A at 3% loss.
I should expect to still be within this wire current limit in real life with 4 panels.
based on my above discussion, does anybody hear fear adding another panel would be a problem?
