Unfortunately I am unaware of a good MPPT controller that is cost effective with simply adding an extra panel.
In 2005 it made sense to go MPPT as panels were $5.50 per watt. Now they are as low as $0.28 cents per watt.
That makes MPPT viable only if the roof space has been maxed out.
