Removing Jack Feet

I would like to remove the feet off my rear jacks/lifts and use removable feet like these:

Has anyone cut off these feet before? Any problems?

Thanks.
  • If you leave your camper on for extended periods it may be easier to just remove the rear jacks. I think it's only 3 bolts.
  • Atwood also makes extensions, they don't need to utilized as that, only the removable aspect. Similar to ones you linked. Although the Atwood instructions sounds as though it also uses an insert inside the ram (leg), the 'foot' slips over OD & pinned.

ordered thru Lance. Maybe he will respond on the installation-or PM him.

  • There is nothing magical about the feet or lower tube. They could be cut off with a metal grinder blade pretty easily.
  • Hi just a thought. I wonder if the manuf. of the legs could shortin them? If they took off 4in lets say, you could use blocks to make up the difference. How about swing outs as used on dulies. If you have enough length on the legs maybe you could raise the brackets and or use with blocks. With alum. corners on our campers you could create longer corner brackets and move the legs up. This will be the Boy Scout project.:) Bill
  • I tow a small enclosed trailer and even though I use an extension (around 48" total), when I make sharp turns the feet on the jacks extend out just enough to hit the bottom corner of the trailer. If they were not on there, the trailer would just make it. I do not need any extra height. The linked-to add-on feet were in the OP simply as something like what I would want to use.
  • They make actual jack leg extensions if you are trying to achieve more height.
  • A. Why would you want to do that??
    B. Are your jacks only 2" diameter??
    C. These are meant for a trailer jack, not a camper jack.
