Removing Stickers

Our new trailer has a lot of stickers. Some on the front and sides outside, some in the cupboards and even some on the stove.Does anyone have some good ideas how to remove these without damaging the surface that they are attached to.
  • They now make a chemical decal softener that makes removal easy. It is better to use the chemical process than to use the decal removal discs. There was a post on the Forum not too long ago about a gentleman that had scuffed the finish on his trailer trying to remove the decals mechanically.

  • IF....they are intended to be temporary stickers, you might be surprised to find that they peel off easily while relatively new, started in one corner with a fingernail.
  • HINT: Goo-Gone AUTOMOTIVE Spray Gel. Special formula compared to the regular stuff.

  • Heat them up with a hair dryer, peel them off, clean up residue with Goo Gone.
  • I used a hair dryer to help loosen and bring them off in one piece. Some of the new RV's look like rolling advertisements.

X3 but I used a cheap harbor freight heat gun. It worked a lot faster than a hair drier. Just hold the heat about 8~10 inches from the surface and the graphics will just peal right off without leaving much, if any, residue. Any glue left behind will only be in small spots at the end of the sticker - the field will be devoid of any adhesive. Pull the sticker back against itself as much as possible for clean results. Avoid pulling at a 90 degree angel as this seems to leave the most glue behind.
    It's really a fast process.

DO NOT LAUGH but a citrus air freshener like Citrus Squeeze at Loews in the house cleaning section. Saved the day getting the glue off the front of my MH after using a heat gun to get the film off. It will remove perm marker too and everything smells good afterwards. :B 10X better than Citrus Goo Gone which I tried first.
