Removing sun staining from fiberglass ???

Hey all, any advice on trying to remove sun staining from the fiberglass sides of my TT ? I had removed some old logos/decals and of course the sun left a yellow staining of the decals behind.

I have looked up a few thoughts on boat forums too but can't seem to get a concrete answer. Some suggest muriatic acid will clean anything, but worried it might also damage the plastic parts/seals/etc. Thought about trying OxiClean too. Trying to avoid finding out the hard way what works and what doesn't. Thanks!
  • The sun bleached out the finish , you could try polishing compound , easier solution , go to a sign shop and have them design new graphics and cover them up .
  • Yeah I had some company logos in various places on there that I wanted to totally remove. I think in too many various spots to easily cover with new decals unfortunately. Logos are removed but the sun staining is left behind.

Hoping that I can just spot clean the logo areas with something, without having to do a major overhaul of the entire surface :-/

It is NOT a stain. It is an area that did not get bleached by the ultra violet from the sun.

You can scrub it until the cows come home and it still won't come off.

    On second thought ...

Use some 600 grit wet-n-dry sandpaper and lightly sand it.
  • Your best bet is to get a full body paint job at a auto paint & body shop.
