Was just curious on thoughts and opinions of removing the decals from the "outside" of a fiberglass TT?Wife and I both agree were not crazy about all the Texas flare on the "out side" of our TT but we were just willing to live with it. Then a friend asked if it was painted on and when I told him they were decals/stickers he asked why I don't just take them off....This is a new trailer that we should take delivery of this upcoming Friday. Figured if its going to be removed better do it before the sun has a greater chance of making a color difference if we do decide to take them off. Don't want to completely strip all markings just the Texas flag at the side rear and logo of the longhorns and star on the front and very back. All the stripes and words can stay. I know I am a terrible Texan for wanting to do this but...Thoughts opinions and tips appreciated. Here is some generic dealer photo's of the trailer

If you do this, do it when it's new because even after just a few years it will leave a ghost image behind. I removed the graphics on the from of mine with a heat gun. Just hold the heat gun about 8~10" away and apply a continuous pull away from the surface. It comes off clean and fairly quick. It took about 30 minutes to remove all the graphics from the front of our TT (then I had it painted).

Take it by a sign shop let them remove the stickers and enjoy yourself a beer

The heat gun - on a low heat - or hair dryer. OR.....could you ask the dealer if they would handle it for you? It's not a hard job, but time consuming. Agree that's a LOT of Texas, but if you don't plan on keeping that trailer for a pretty long time, you may be better off to leave it original. You know those "Texas folks" do love their stuff.....be thankful you don't live in TN....everything here is orange and white, UGH! Happy Camping!

If it were me I would remove them pronto! I think it would have much better resale value without them!

I'd have the dealer do it as a condition of sale. I'd keep the flag and the swoops, though.

If you plan to sell in a few years, you might remove the Texas stuff to give yourself a larger audience when you go to sell. I know that I would not want that huge TX flag on the back of any RV I owned. I am not from TX ans don't think I could every develop that diehard love of Texas that it would take to want that flag and the rest of the Texas decals. If there is a small TX logo indicating that it was a special edition, I might consider leaving it, but I would definitely remove the BIG TEXAS stuff.

I know, I know, I know.... More than likely they will stay on the trailer. But Ill just have to do more then just add a Chicago Bears spare tire cover.... Wonder if a FattHead will stay on and be a good cover up?

I removed my name decals .
Warm sunny days and an electric hair dryer and PATIENCE .
However I added " swooshy " decals .
Which are inexpensive online .

Remove the decals when they are warm from the sun.
If any residue/adhesive is left behind, WD-40 works well and won't harm the finish. The primary ingredient in WD-40 is:
· 51% Stoddard solvent (i.e., mineral spirits: primarily hexane, somewhat similar to kerosene).
· 25% Liquefied petroleum gas (presumably as a propellant; carbon dioxide is now used instead to reduce WD-40's considerable flammability).
· 15% Mineral oil (light lubricating oil)
· 10-% Inert ingredients.
It's a great degreaser as well. I buy it by the gallon and just fill a spray bottle to clean anywhere there is road tar on any surfaces.
Then I just wash and wax afterwards.
