In addition to the Renogy kit I am researching kits from ZAMP.
ZAMP offers the same 100W panel with 3 different controllers;
8A 5-stage PWM
10A 2-Stage PWM
30A 5-Stage PWM
The 100W panel is rated at 5.59 A.
My question is; what would be the advantage in the 3 controllers offered? Reading what boatycall posted above there would be no advantage to getting anything greater than the 8A if I stick with the single 100W panel. If I decided to add another panel it looks like the obvious upgrade would be the 30A controller?
Is 5 stage better than 2 stage? (Does this relate to the pulse modulation?)
Would the 30A charge faster than the 8A or does it just leave more room for expansion? (I think the limiting factor would be the 5.59A panel?)
If my plan is to stick with a 100W panel (5.59A) is there really any advantage to get a controller rated at 10A? Or 30A?
