Repair exterior window molding insert

Hi all! A true newbie here and cannot find anything through the search engine on this, so very sorry if this is redundant. I have a 1990 Prowler trailer. The back window has a 1/2" plastic flexible molding insert covering all the screws of the window. It has started to come out of it's track, and I cannot get it to stay put. It is not cracked or anything - just cannot get it to stay put, so obviously it is damaged in some way. Having a devil of a time finding the right replacement seal for this due to the age of my beastie. Is there a way for me to get this to stay put, i.e. epoxy or something? I'd much rather put a new gasket on it, but as I mentioned earlier, I cannot find it anywhere. Appreciate any advise from much more seasoned rv'ers! :h
  • this place has all types pellandent.com have a 5 sample for $5
also try rvwindows.com the 1st might be wrong
  • You should be able to take a sample of your trim into Camping World or any RV outfit that has parts dept and they should be able to identify and order replacement.
  • Being your in Pac Northwest... Call and ask for Dave cell number if he is not in shop. Very impressed with his work. If you're not close to him (Lacy, WA area) you should still be able to get right part thru mail, once he figures out what exactly you need. He does a lot of work for dealers. In my case once he found out what I needed, he mailed it.

PM me if I missed anything or if more info needed.
  • Here is a source for a large variety of trim and window molding insert. Maybe you can match your existing.

Tip: heat up the molding with a hair dryer, heat gun or even soak in rally hot water. Makes it more pliable and easier to insert.

    Hope this helps
