I replaced all but the halogen bulbs years ago with the cheap(low priced) 48 led panel boards from china. They are all still working fine. I prefer the warmest white as that simulates incandescent the best. The cool white ones can be bluish or greenish. The foam tape that is used doesn't last as it gets warm and lets go. I used a dab of silicone adhesive on each corner that provides a small standoff for air to circulate behind the boards. No issues or failures using this method.
The price of american distributed bulbs have come down in the past year or two. I've recenty replaced all the halogen bulbs (including my home) with led and can't tell the difference except they are cool to the touch.
This is definitely a worthwhile project to do as the savings on battery power usage is huge!
