Replacing outside shower

Can the outside shower be replaced with a residential faucet? We are camping now and when we turned on the water if guess over the winter we had a plastic part freeze. We never use the outside shower and was wondering if we could just install a faucet. Is there a way to just turn it off? It is late so we didn't take time to get out there and look. I need to figure this out so mama can have water back to,the trailer tomorrow.
  • We use our outside shower very often for various things. I hated the shower head that was on it so I removed it and added a spray nozzle like you have on your residential kitchen sink. It works great for a lot of camping stuff.
  • I put a garden hose adapter and a gun sprayer with a threaded end on the hose. I use it to flush my black tank at the dump station and get rid of my extra water before i go home.
  • Just go to nearest Home Depot or Ace Hardware and buy two 1/2" plugs (male pipe thread). They are available in galvanized metal or PVC (works better) plastic. Unscrew the supply lines from back side of the shower and screw the plugs into the supply lines.
  • Of course you can do about anything you want.
We kept the shower but added some adapters and hoses so we can use it as a shower, or change the hose and connect it to an outside sink to wash hands and do dishes.

I'm sure you could modify it to have a residential faucet along with mounting a removable table you could use as a sink. Whatever floats your boat. Of course we here on the forum always like to see photos if you make some good mods.
  • As stated, just cap them, but I can't imagine not using the outside shower. It sure is nice to have hot water outside sometimes for washing hands, sand off the feet, etc.
