I'm shorter than 6' 3", which makes it even more frustrating. Nothing worse than settling in for the night only to realize you have to climb down to go back outside.
Getting on a stool, tippy-toed, in my fuzzy bunny slippers, at 1:00 AM, and doing calisthenics with an exhaust fan flap, is not my idea of happy.

Nice mods. Definitely worth it. I noticed that my hood has an internal flap as well. Did yours? Looks like you eliminated it in order to get the locks in?
