Rest areas?
I was just told it is illegal to spend the night in your camper in a rest area in Tennessee. Can anyone verify this? If this is indeed true, does it apply to other state's rest areas? How does on...

Campgrounds can be unsafe as well
Personal experience. Pulling into a Rest area in Louisiana early one morning, (1 or 2). Was met with a call on the radio, Did I want a date, and the pimp car had already started my way, Another time in Texas. Pimp, let his girls out in the rest area I was in, and they walked thru the rest area advertising their wares. Another time, As we crawled down from the cab, we were met by a guy with a knife. It got to the point, we NEVER came out of the truck with out protection, and silly as it sounds, We walked to the bathrooms in groups, never alone.
Is that really the atmosphere you want to have your family rest in? We only did it because we could drive off anytime we felt the need. If sleeping in a trailer. That would not be an option.
