Rest areas?
I was just told it is illegal to spend the night in your camper in a rest area in Tennessee. Can anyone verify this? If this is indeed true, does it apply to other state's rest areas? How does on...

This IS the biggest thing I have found that has changed in rest areas since years ago and makes me raging mad. I.E. the new wave of disgusting urine dumping truckers. :(
The parking area for trucks where we are directed to park with our MH's is literally COVERED with urine puddles and where there isn't a puddle the rest is COVERED with dried up urine.
WHY are these people not ticketed by the police?
If all RV'ers would take 2 minutes out of their time and email and call the highway dept and tell them we as taxpayers are NOT going to stand for truckers emptying gallons of urine in the parking lots of public rest areas, maybe just maybe we can stop this dumping of urine.
Sadly if we don't hound them nothing will ever be done.
This is a real health issue and I really can't understand why it is allowed to continue. Since most indulge in std drug laden lady's of the night regularly that just expands the possibility of disease exponentially.
Children walk on it and children touch their shoes and as all children do they then touch their mouths. Walk your dog over it and it's back on your carpet in the RV.
I gladly endure smoking campfires, un picked up poop, barking dogs, people walking thru my site, etc. etc. all part of RV'ing. BUT having to walk thru a field of urine in a rest area is NOT. grrrr.
