Good write up Mike. I picked up our FastGuns used about a year ago I cant imagine ever going back to another style tiedown. Just the ease and convenience of use, if I ever set up another camper and cost was issue something else would get deleted.
Though I've grown fond of the 'Winchester' handles on ours, it was my only real gripe with them. Mostly fit and finish (but if you wrap your fingers around instead of thru the loops you'll find out why you shouldnt real quick). I filed the handles and plasti-dipped them.
Appearantly the new ones have handles simular to the deringers.
As far as product evaluator Joe..its possible the new handles are the result of direct evaluator input. Free does go a long ways toward opinion and a prospective buyer might give more credence to a review from someone who paid for product-but I dont see it as being biased. I got my FastGuns for half price and it didnt make the handles any nicer. If free I wouldnt bite my tongue. I also have aquired several T/L products over the years-just an awesome company to deal with IMO.
Im currently converting our scissor step setup using a TorkLift Basement Step. I should do a report on it. At least for me its the efforts of folks documenting product installs and real useage that helps when considering/comparing a product and options.
Thanks Mike-though I'd rather see more here directly on the forum I also appreciate the work on your blog!
