Just got back from a 3,000 mile trip over some very rough roads (US412 in Oklahoma/ Bridge transitions in Colorado, New Mexico, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, & Wyoming). I always use the 1/2 hole covered target for the front FastGuns and a little less tension for the rear ones. The TC was kept in position very well. On a couple of the bridge transitions, I thought the truck went airborne.
I use a little anti-seize on the Stainless Steel threads.
I believe the new handles would be better than the current ones. On a couple occasions when releasing the FastGuns, the tension release and snap back can catch your fingers. It didn't take but a couple times before I decided to not put three fingers inside the handle when releasing.
I might need to take a hacksaw to my current set of FastGuns.
