Review of the Torklift International FastGun

After over a dozen trips and nearly two years of use, I finally wrote a review of the Torklift FastGun. The review includes my experiences with the "FastGun Squeak" and getting the right amount of tension during installation.

I should also note that I'm neither a Torklift employee nor an official product evaluator and that I receive no royalty or compensation of any kind for this review. I'm just a regular guy like you writing an honest review about this product.

As always, your feedback on the review and your own personal experiences with the FastGun are welcome.

I adjust the tension by pulling the slack out of the handle and looking at the lock hole. The bottom of the handle should cover exactly half of the lock hole. While you still have to take the lower hook out to adjust, it's quick and easier than repeatedly pulling the handle over center.
  • Mike, great thread..I have often wondered what others have thought about theirs as well. This will be year 5 of having used fastguns and have nothing but good to say about them! quick, easy, adjust once and done. I originally had the polished stainless ones, but ended up getting the powder coated ones this go around. Dont show all the road grime and never need polishing..Would recommend them to anyone. The internal spring design is essential IMO as it unloads the mounting brackets as well as camper pad eyes from any undue stress or shock loading.
