Even a moderate size C with a slide will have more room inside than the biggest TC.
In most cases the TC is taller than a C unless you got a short camper and a short truck.
Stability? Any 4000lb camper on a srw truck is for the most part less stable than a C. Track width, chassis and center of gravity.
Bigger the truck and smaller the camper, the more stable it is.
I think your avg 4000lb camper on a 1 ton dually set up right is as stable as a normal C.
No TC issues with bumps, potholes, etc in my experience and we get into the boonies quite a bit.
Bear in mind though that there are literally 1000s or different PU/TC and Class C combos and it's not a 1 size fits all answer wrt stability, wind, durability, etc.
