Riverside Retro VS Gulf Stream Vintage??

Hey everyone! My wifes parents are looking to buy soon and are debating between these two. I know they really are wanting to buy the best quality of the two, and are just wondering which is a higher quality build. They will be able to store it indoors for the winter, but not so much in the summer.

One thing my mother-in-law said was that the (I'm pretty sure it was the Gulf Stream Vintage) one had an exterior material that wasn't glossy feeling at all, and instead felt like drywall (like a flat like feel). Not sure why that would be, and if anybody has anything to comment on that please feel free.

Otherwise if anyone has any comments that might help them choose one brand over the other that would be great! Thanks guys!
  • The riverside is well built, we really considered one of those but couldn't get past the wet bath in most of them. We wanted a toilet separate from the shower. Only the 2 biggest models don't have the wet bath.
  • We toured the Riverside factory in Lagrange, IN and was impressed with effort they put into building quality into their units. Nothing is perfect and you can find little things, but over all we have thoroughly enjoyed our Retro 195. You can check out the Riverside Owners Forum for more information. The 177 does have a wet bath, but the 195 is separate. They have recently added some units with slide outs, but I am not a fan of slide outs after reading all the issues on this forum. Best wishes on your decision.
