There is a battery chemistry (LiFePO4 aka LFP) proven (tested in 2013) to retain at least 80% of its capacity up through 5,000 deep discharge and fast charging (80% of full charge within 15min) cycles.
How many miles would a typical EV go on 5,000 full battery discharge/recharge cycles compared to the typical lifespan of any vehicle?
How many ICE owners use more than 80% of the tank capacity before refilling?
Btw Tesla is now using LFP in standard range model 3s.
