Glad you had a good trip.
We just got back from a 4 week trip to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Arches, and Santa Fe area. Absolutely gorgeous. The mountains are so different than ours here in NC.
You are right, Germans in rentals were everywhere. Nice folks.
This was our first long trip, also. On the way out and back, we stayed mostly at KOAs overnight and found about half had decent wifi for email and general searching. Doubt if any would stream anything very well. Amazing how unlevel most of the sites are.
We averaged about 11.5 mpg. Fighting a slight headwind through Oklahoma dropped it to 8mpg. Up in Utah, we got as much as 13mpg. The truck really seemed to like the higher altitude.
RV folks are good people. We met people from all over the US, Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia.
This was also our first trip with an Andersen Hitch. It performed flawlessly. Best of all, no grease!
We used a tire pressure monitoring system for the first time. The peace of mind was more than worth the cost.
We are now planning an east coast trip up into Canada for next year's long vacation.
Happy travels to all.
