Rocks in Dually tires

Yes they are very easy to pull out, the most important thing after exiting those hauling roads is to check that the wheels are clear of rocks, so they don't fly out and kill someone on the main road when you get up to speed...
We sometimes have 5 axles so they don't get checked as good as they should be...

Got a rock between my tires the first month I had the truck. I was pulling an equipment trailer and hooked a chain around the rock and to the trailer frame (to keep the chain low) and simply backed up about two feet. Rock popped right out.

Happened once while helping a just haul old mining equipment out of a 12k+ elevation mine. We realized it was there on the dirt road where we were transferring gear from one flatbed truck to another and used a pry bar to remove it no problem. Have not had it happen on my truck but we don't get into 4wd rocky roads much. I taught a class at the Overland Expo on matching trucks and campers and one couple told me they had had a number of occurrences in their experience well off road. The only time they had damage was when they didn't notice it in time. My take away there is that the key is in early detection so stop and look of you are driving in suspect terrain (not the book by John Macphee about ophiolite sequences etc!). To me it is clearly an issue to be aware of but not an issue that means duallies do not have an appropriate place carrying heavy loads off road.

I've never had it happen but I always figured I would use a tow strap looped around my tow hitch. I like the front tire method in the video woodhog posted.

I had it happen once and I noticed it after I got back on pavement and enough speed so that the out of balance condition showed up big time.
It seems like I remember beating it out with a pipe and using the pipe like a pool cue to hit it out from the opposite side. Wasn't fun but it didn't take too long.
