is there a reason you're downgrading your tow vehicle but increasing the size and weight of the trailer? you seem to be doing opposite from what most people do.
you won't see much difference, between the GMC and the Toyota, in gas mileage.
the Toy will struggle much more, especially in mountains. in fact, you'll probably see lower gas mileage when towing with the Toyota, over towing with the Denali.
if the Denali has the 5.3 v-8, you'll probably get the same overall gas mileage, as you would in the Toyota.
and as Chuck said, payload will be your biggest issue with the Toyota.
