We've used the 10,000/1000 pound rated Equalizer with our 5000 pound Roo 23SS for 8 seasons on both our Explorer and Expedition. From my personal experience I highly recommend it. You will be closer to 6000 pounds than 5000 with a Roo 21SS.
Once setup it's just hook up and tow. Avoid WDHs with separate sliding friction sway control.
