Roll Up Tonneau Cover Suggestions

I just ordered my new tv which is a 2016 ram 3500 8' bed srw. Anyway im looking to make a list of things ill need/want for it and the tonneau cover is one of them.

Im looking at strickly the roll up (bars built in) ones as this wont just be pulling a camper. I will be using it to haul firewood and other things and will need full access to the bed.

I found a couple different brands, (looked on autoanything) truxedo I think being the most popular. They varry in price from $250 to about $800. At the end of the day I just need it to work and last and was wondering what people out there had. The $250 one is looking good with a tailgate seal and cleaner but if its life span is only two years its just not worth it.

Can you all let me know which brand and model you have along with how its holding up and if you're happy with it and why.

    I have a tonneau pro tri fold on mine...so far so good but I've been looking at the #62435 Extang Encore hard tri fold that has the ability to open from the front also. Definitely my next choice!!

    I have a access lorado tonneau cover on my Sierra it is very nice does not flap on the highway. easy to put on. We sell lots of them at my work.

    Truxedo Deuce - rolls all the way up from the back and does a 1/3 flip from the front. Best of both worlds.

    Not my experience with Retrax Pro, but glad that you had better luck than I did. It was definitely the most expensive.

    BTW...Good luck with any of the hard, rool -up / slide up covers if you live in the snow belt. I had a real nice, secure, slide up cover on one truck a few years ago and if snow or rain froze on it, I had to put a heater in the bed to thaw it out before i could slide it! With a roll up, I simply brush the snow off and roll.
    Someone makes a steel mesh security bed cover that goes under the roll up cover to afford a bit nor security as long as you have a locking tailgate.

    Retrax Pro! They are excellent quality and will stop at any point. Covers the space in from of the 5er hitch. You lose a little space at the front of the box but with an 8 foot box it's not that much disadvantage.

    The Retrax is well made and it keeps the box dry when closed.

    X3. Mine is the Access Vanish low profile. I've had it for almost 3 years and it looks great. Easy to install and does not leak. Highly recommend. I think it was a little less than $400 and worth very penny. Good luck. Keith


    X4! I have the Access Laredo and really like that is somewhat locking because of the rear latching system.

    X5 Access Lorado here as well. Maintain it with 303 protectant as well, to keep it looking new.

    Extang makes nice ones too.

    I have personally found that Truxedo ones do not have last all that long. Others may have different experiences.

    On my 4th Truxedo lopro.

    They've all been perfect and looked like new when I've moved on.

    I'm on my second truck with one. Tried a Lund roll up on my last truck. No comparison...I have the Access original. Beautiful fit, rain tight, no complaints.
